The Protagonists: Theodore Mullings, Filmmaker & Photographer, Toronto, Canada

Recently, I’ve realised that the most fascinating part of The Plotline© isn’t just the method—it’s the stories of the real people who use it every day. Their quirks, their rituals, their inspirations.

So, with a touch of anthropological curiosity (and maybe a dash of market research), we’re launching a mini-interview series called ‘The Protagonists.’

Think of it as a quick dive into the books, movies, sounds, and scents shaping their worlds—and maybe, just maybe, yours too.

First up: Theodore ‘Teddy’ Mullings, a creative from Toronto and one of our very first customers. Teddy pre-ordered The Plotline© after discovering it on Instagram, telling me he ‘just got it.’ He immediately understood our mission and how it could become part of his daily life.

“If I can, I spend at least five minutes in meditation and then a shower. I’ll check in with how I’m feeling, and that will dictate my outfit and what I’m going to write. Then I have a protein shake, and I’m out the door.”

We’re thrilled to spotlight Teddy, his incredible photography, and a few of his favorite things.

Enjoy x,
Meghan

What’s the one book or movie that feels like it’s written about you?

I’d have to say, Rocky, everyone loves an underdog. I like the idea of just trying to go the distance, challenging yourself to see your capabilities.

Who do you look up to?

There are a lot. I hope this doesn’t bounce back on me when this person says some wild mess on the internet, but in terms of fashion, it’d be Miguel. In terms of politics, it'd be Susan Sarandon, and overall, it’d be Ryan Coogler.

If your life had a soundtrack, would would be playing in the background?

Right now? I’d say Anderson Paak.

What’s a fragrance that captures the current vibe of your Plotline© these days?

It’s kind of my default fragrance, but Yves Saint Laurent’s L’homme de Nuit—which means ‘night man’— if anyone is an Always Sunny fan.

If there was a city you could live in and you has unlimited funds, where would you be?

I’d say Toronto. I'm not going to big up my city, but it has everything: good food, beautiful people, and diversity in a way that many places don’t. Plus, with the money I have, I can travel. Win-win.

What’s your ‘power outfit’, for when you need to step into a ‘pivotal scene’ in your day?

Is this where I say that all my outfits are power outfits? I definitely have been feeling my fits a lot more. I highly subscribe to the “look good, feel good.” type of mentality. Every day I step outside the house, my fit needs to be on point. Hot take, but dudes sometimes don’t think about their fashion enough and what they’re trying to communicate. I like bold colours, fun tops, and colour coordination—all that goodness. You need to be the most excited person about who you are and where you are.

When do you like to do your Plotline©?

I typically do my Plotline work in the morning. I’ve had the odd, hella lazy day where I start as I eat lunch, but the morning works best for me.
